Más de 20.000 fieles han pasado este miércoles ante el féretro del papa Francisco en la basílica de San Pedro del Vaticano, en el primero de los tres días de exposición hasta su funeral el próximo sábado.
El portavoz de la Santa Sede, Matteo Bruni, indicó que en total fueron 19.430 personas las que pasaron por la capilla ardiente desde su apertura a las 11.00 horas locales (9.00 GMT) de hoy.
La Santa Sede, dada la alta afluencia de fieles, está preparando ampliar la apertura de la basílica hasta pasada la medianoche.
