El parlamentario oficialista sostuvo que la AN de 2020 trabajará de manera mancomunada con el resto de los poderes públicos del país
El diputado Pedro Carreño aseguró que el Poder Legislativo de 2015 «se puso al servicio de los más bastardos y oscuros intereses antipatria».
Durante su intervención en la instalación de la Asamblea Nacional electa el 6 de diciembre, Carreño aseveró: «Se le bajó el Parlamento de 2015 los pantalones al imperialismo» y se constituyó «en una suerte de base militar norteamericana».
Carreño respondió al parlamentario opositor José Gregorio Correa. «No es debate de este Parlamento y nosotros no vamos a morder el peine de la derecha de los que votaron y no votaron, porque el diputado que se paró a hablar fue electo con el 2% del RE. ¡Qué inmorales!», subrayó.
